Monkey Business In Petchaburi

Juveniles monkeying around in the trees at Khao Wong

Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park in Petchaburi features a variety of temples and things to see that we won't delve into today because it would be a a disservice to hurry through them, but throughout the park you're bound to see troops of monkeys sprinkled throughout the area.

They've more or less over-run the area known to the locals as Khao Wong (Palace Hill), and when they're up and around being playful the younger juveniles put on quite a show, without even being aware they're doing so.

The young ones in today's clip were wrestling and jockeying for position at the ends of branches that sagged with their weight, a good 30 feet from the ground below. While this modified "grab ass" looked like complete monkey business it was also a learning experience; had they been in "defending" mode they may well have needed the skill to avoid that fall.
